Collaborative Projects

Customer projects

We are working on the technical resolution of sector-specific issues.

To do this, we use innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence or machine learning, and we lead projects in a collaborative R&D mode.

For example, in the field of AI, we seek to optimize energy consumption according to the treatment.

Currently, masses of data are sent to data centers for processing, and the results are returned to the devices.

We aim to achieve optimal performance of neural networks by implementing them at the hardware level.

To do this, we use the latest FPGA matrices provided by XILINX.

National and European Research Projects

We regularly participate in collaborative R&D projects at national or European levels.

ADAVEC

AViSTO, a company of ADVANS Group, is coordinator of the ADAVEC project, which aims to prepare the transition to the autonomous vehicle.

AViSTO develops driver monitoring and experience data collection modules at the software level, while ELSYS Design, another company of ADVANS Group, is in charge of integrating the various solutions and boards developed at the electronic level.

Finally, we ensure the deployment on a 3D / Reality simulator.

ADAVEC project participants are: AViSTO, Epicnpoc, Université Nice Côté d’Azur, and Renault Software Factory.

CIAR: NEURAL NETWORKS IN SPACE

Thales Alenia Space, ELSYS Design (ADVANS Group) and AViSTO (ADVANS Group) are at the origin of the CIAR project (Autonomous and Reactive Image Chain), carried out since 2018 as part of the IRT Saint Exupéry institute in Sophia Antipolis with ActiveEon and GEO4i.

With our partners, we develop Artificial Intelligence solutions intended to be implemented on FPGAs embedded on satellites.

The CIAR chain has first been trained to identify clouds and only select and send useful images to the ground. The satellite was then reprogramed from the ground to detect forest fires.

The satellite then became multi-mission dynamically and it optimized the quantity of information sent to the ground by prequalifying it on electronic board.

NEXGENTV

AViSTO also was the project coordinator of NexGenTV project, in the field of social TV.  Using the Wildmoka technologies, it aimed to develop tools and solutions to make interactive and shareable video streams on social networks.

In addition to AViSTO and Wildmoka, the other members of the consortium were Envivio, Eurecom and CNRS-Irisa.

We can also mention two other older projects:

  • The EconHome project, which focused on reducing the power consumption of home network equipment (residential gateways, set-top boxes, powerline communication modems and Wi-Fi extenders).
  • At the European level (FP Framework Program of the European Union), we participated in the OMEGA project, which aimed to implement a multi-technology home network at 1 Gbps, with no new wires.

Universities, laboratories and private research institutes

We often work in partnership with universities (e.g. INSA-IETR), public research organizations (e.g. CEA) and private research organizations (e.g. IRT Saint Exupery).

From this pooling of our respective skills and know-how also emerge exciting projects!

Competitive clusters

Our internal or collaborative innovation activities are carried out in conjunction with competitiveness clusters, such as System@tic, Images & Réseaux, SCS, SAFE or MINATEC.

For example, the ADVAVEC project was labelled by SCS.
